Yes, I wanted to use sliders, 40 across, to make it look like a graphic equalizer but the challenge of mounting the sliders, cutting slots for them, making everything line up with my "paper on plastic" panel was just not worth it (IMHO). I couldn't figure out a way to make it look nice. The beauty of pots is that they are easy to drill and once the pot is mounted and the knob is in place it covers up any issues with bad drilling or bad alignment.
