I sort of wish you would have supplied a link to what you found.

I was not able to find what you were talking about.

However, I noticed that there was a lot of Amature Radio stuff on that 
website.

I suspect that you built a frequency tripler  intended for use at high 
frequencies.  Also, these were generally intended only to triple a 
single frequency.
