Hi Robin,

Yes - that's it.

Probe setting needs to be set at 1x to get down to 5mV/div - (x10 = 50.0mv, x100 = 500mV, etc)...

however that apparently limits the scope's bandwidth from 25MHz to 5MHz.

Hi Justin,

The most likely explanation is that you are using a divide by 10 probe.

Divide by 10 probes are widely used because they place on the system you
are testing a DC load of 10 Meg ohms rather than the scope's normal 1
Meg ohm impedance.  Capacitance is also reduced by about a factor of 10.
