That's what lasertran inkjet stuff is, it is super delicate and you need a
super smooth and clean surface for it to come out right.  

You might also want to look at inkjet printable waterproof vinyl
(http://www.papilio.com/inkjet%20waterproof%20adhesive%20film%20media.html).
I have had very good results with that and you can print black for a white
text on black background deal.  This is how my midibox MB6582 came out:

Has anybody tried the inkjet water transfer paper? I'm curious if that 
would be a good option. You run the paper through your printer, then 
clearcoat over the top with clear spray paint. It becomes like a 
waterslide decal from model kits. I imagine once applied it could be 
re-coated for further protection.
