ARM is my next step once I'm fully familiar with the two new 8-bit 
families (HCS08, MSP430) I'm working with. Whilst I'll probably go with 
TI, since I'm already familiar with their "ecosystem."

I *do* like the idea of onboard DAC - not sure if any of the low-end TI 
parts have that, although haven't looked in detail as of yet.

Good idea to have that filtered analogue supply. Have to confess that I 
tend to connect AVCC to DVCC, but then I'm only reading pots or slow 
control voltages at this stage.
