Isopropyl Alcohol (90% pure or better), NOT Rubbing Alcohol, NOT
Rubbing Alcohol, NOT Rubbing Alcohol. :)

Rubbing Alcohol contains lanolin and other skin conditioners that will
leave a film. One more time: NOT Rubbing Alcohol.

I use Isopropyl (NOT Rubbing Alcohol) and an old toothbrush. It takes
a few rinses, then I rinse off with the hottest water I can get. This
may still leave some shmutz, so I scrub and rinse again with Isopropyl
(NOT Rubbing Alcohol) and another hot water rinse. If I want my boards
to look picture perfect after this, I'll polish up the open areas with
q-tips.
