I certainly don't know, but I've seen it cropping up often on stompbox  
forums, along with the BS170 and 2N5457 as replacements for unobtanium   
FETs.

Paul S - do you (or anyone else) have an opinion to share on the part  
and its usefulness in synth circuits? -  Is it any good in synth apps,  
particularly in VCO cores?
