[sdiy] Things to do with a Kimball Organ with a rhythm machine.

I have a Kimball Organ 600 or 700 that's in pretty decent shape, but it
just has too many ciphers and one dead note to mess with as a serious
 organ.

The first thing I want to do is make the Rhythm unit (I forget what
Kimball calls it) a stand-alone unit. It has issues and I was wondering
if anyone had a schematic for one of these puppies. There are an awful
lot of inductors on this thing. Lots of Ge transistors too. Funky diodes
 for the pattern section.

It has a problem with racing tempo, which I'm tacking with shotgun
capacitor replacement. I think some mylars might actually be bad too. I
 didn't think "greenies" went bad.

Next project is to put the amp & reverb in a large speaker cabinet.

After that it's fun with taking some of the circuits apart (except the
repeater) and fun with the manuals and pedals.

I'll miss the polyphony, but I already have three polyphonic synths.

I'd like to hear stories about projects derived from organ guts.
 (Unless it's a Hammond tone-wheel, then I don't wanna know. I have an
M111 still waiting to be restored.)
