I use a no-clean flux pen. Electrolube SMF12P. Works just like an 
ordinary marker pen.

You can go over all the pads on a board with this, leave it to dry, and 
be ready to go later.

One thing to note regarding drag-soldering is that to remove any solder 
bridges between pins, I first use the flux pen on my desolder braid - 
works like a charm. (And I can always tell if I reach an un-fluxed part 
of the braid, because it takes a LOT more heating time.)
