I don't do IC design... but I can share a few pointers in the right 
directions at least. Won't give you the full picture for sure.

A good book which is relevant is

Paul R. Gray & Robert G. Meyer "Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated 
Circuits". I have Third edition, ISBN 0-471-57495-3. I beleive a fourth 
revision is out now.

Among other things it has detailed analysis of Gilbert cells and 
pre-distorsion diode theory.

As for tools, look at Electric and MAGIC:

It's not the professional's info that you really should need, but 
hopefully get you looking in the right corners and get some more search 
terms to find your way.
