...where you can download *for free* an entire book on the subject by 
Hans Camezind. Not only did he design the 555 timer but he also 
originated the semi-custom Interdesign process which was used to produce 
the first CEM chips.

On a more mixed-signal front, there is (not free, see Amazon, etc.) a 
book called "ASIC Design in the Silicon Sandbox" by the sadly 
recently-deceased Keith Barr, one of the founders of Alesis and latterly 
the designer of the Spin Semiconductor FV-1 one-chip effects processor.

Presumably you already have the tens of thousands of dollars and you now 
just need to brush up on the knowledge? ;-)
