I took my old BNC-BNC cables that came with my networking card (remember
when networks were thick, thin, or twisted pair?) and cut one end off and
replaced it with a 1/4" mono plug. I made 4 of them and use them all the
time as 1X scope probes when working with audio gear. If I want to tap into
a signal, I just use a 1/4" Y adapter. They work well.
