[sdiy] Amdek (Boss) Hand Clapper layout or similar

Dear Synth DIY'ers,
I'm looking for a clap circuit, standalone. Amdek produced a kit
version of the Boss HC-2 standalone (I think 9V) hand clap module with
a useful trigger input. Many of you probably know this one. There were
knockoffs as well under other brand names. My goal is to have a
compact handclap "sidecar" for my TR-606.

There is a schematic up on electro-music.com. But before I go
reinventing the wheel I just want to see if anyone has a layout
already for this, or a comparable circuit. I have a pretty reliable
looking E&MM clap project document downloaded, but I have no idea what
that might sound like. I have googled around for the Amdek/Boss
circuit or a comparable project, and I am finding schem's but not and
no luck with a layout yet.
