Subject: [sdiy] PCB/Schematic software

which is difficult to impossible to run beyond WIN98. That said it is a pretty
bug-free solution for schematic / netlist / PCB artwork / Gerber output

<shudder>

For a moment there I was also going to recommend Eagle. It has come on in leaps and bounds in the last few versions, it is very stable, the support community is active and helpful, it's well established and widely accepted, it allows a high degree of customization and reconfiguration and once you know what buttons to press it really does get the job done...

...but then I remembered how painful it was to learn and thought... What has Harry ever done to me?

Use KiCad, use Excel... Engrave the circuits in your forehead with a rusty nail.., Lay out your own entrails in the shape of schematic symbols... Do *anything*... Just... Save... Yourself!

;)
