[sdiy] Thomas Band Box kit?

Hi list, a while ago i ripped out a Thomas Band Box and a Playmate out of an old Thomas organ in the hopes of making them stand-alone units. Well there's a giant mess of cables coming out of it and ancient circuit structure so it seemed like way too much work.

However i just noticed in an issue of Electronics Illustrated from 1969 that these were apparently sold as kits too - so does anyone have any information or know where to get info on hooking these things up? I remember it sounding pretty awesome when it was still in the organ so i'd love to make them work...
