It sounds good, Ian. I bet you came away with a pile of ideas to do the next one better, too.
And I totally agree with David, that teaching is fun when the class wants to learn. Unfortunately that isn't absolutely always the situation! My worst class ever was trying to teach web design to a bunch of teachers. They'd been rounded up by their headteachers as the person who was going to be the technical brains behind a new get-schools-online initiative. Most of them didn't want another responsibility on their plates and all of them apparently thought they could do a better job of teaching the class than I could, and consequently they were the most badly behaved bunch I've ever had the misfortune to teach!
But at least for something like a circuit bending class, everyone wants to be there and should be into it, which gets you 90% of the way there.

Nobody had any experience with electronics going into the class, but I got everybody soldering and knowing the difference between components by the end. They all walked away excited to be holding a unique instrument that they had modded themselves. First class ever. And all of them showed interest in taking a more advanced class involving reading schematics and assembling a circuit board from them!
