[sdiy] I've figured out the 40106, now where to go?

Hi everyone,

First off, thank for the responses a few weeks ago regarding my
question about what types of chips to pick up for people new to
electronics.

I've been playing with the 40106, the TLC555 and the LM556 and am
quite happy with the way things are going.

Because of Beavis Audio's website, I have a four 4-oscillator noise machine.

Sooo... the next question is.... now where should I go regarding ICs?

I was reading around online about Thomas Henry's "The VCO Chip
Cookbook" but I can't find anywhere online to purchase it.

Is this book still available?

Better yet, is this book current to what's available to purchase from
supply stores?

I know these are vague questions, but I'm still just starting.

I know there's a shit-ton to learn and would just like to know where I
should be going?

Should I stick with the three chips above for a while, or move around
into learning as much as I can about new things?

Too many questions, I know. Sorry about that.

I'm just happy because it's Friday and the girlfriend is in LA for the
weekend so that means I can turn the dining room table into a
workbench for three days. :)
