Ah, the "buying a car" trick might work here - offer to pop round after work on Friday, and offer a little less cash than they're really looking for.

So, you go round with your ${currency}100 and they have the choice of you walking away with it again, or walking away with a new drum machine while they take your ${currency}100 out for a night at the pub.
