MicroBlaze is basically a soft-core you can customize modules - think a 
customizable micro controller - and then use default libraries generated by 
the developing software, and then code in C, as you would in a 
microcontroller. One can then also build custom IP and extend the ALU for 
dedicated functionality. Idk how much of this relates to a DSP though.
