Hey! We're back where we came in!

This was what the Buchla 297 is supposed to do. Whether it does or not, I dunno. I can't find the schematic.

If the Buchla does work that way, then it doesn't really sound any different from the frequency-shifted method. There are plenty of Buchla 297 examples on Youtube and such like, and it sounds pretty much like Richie's examples.
