You could build a suboctave divider if you really want to, and they are
fine for generic logic tasks.

Another serious use i can think off: If you have a child that wants to
play around with digital logic these chips are nice because they are
*very* robust and can take quite a bit of abuse.

Other uses include building a heaterplate (they burn energy like there
is no tomorrow) or using them as an alarm system for barefeet burglars.
Just place them on the floor with pins pointing up and wait..
