I was under the impression that TLC272's were good opamps when you needed to go between ground and +v (no neg rail)
So i tried one as the buffer in a R2R circuit (taking the out of the r2r ladder into the +input and the - input to ground)
however,....this caused a massive current surge and the opamp got super hot and died. (i burned my finger :(
the odd thing was, a TL072 in the exact same socket, works just fine (between grnd and +v)
so....
what am i doing wrong?
was i wrong in thinking that the TLC272 can operate between grnd and +v without a voltage divider vref?
thanks
