I'd separate the clock pulswidth from the clock generator itself. If you 
will use an external clock (and the day will come, that you want one) 
you would loose this ability, if the PW was connected to the clock 
generator.

I am thinking at the moment about some vc pulswidth and a clock to vc 
converter.
I once tried this already with the doepfer PLL module and a VC-pulse 
module and it was basically successful.
