[sdiy] TI SN74LS624N, worth buying?

The beginner is back with another IC question.

What's everyone's opinion about the Texas Instrument's SN74LS624N chip?

Digi-Key has about 380 in their inventory.

All I did was type in VCO in Digi-Key's website and this was the only
chip that showed in stock.

$3.50 a piece.

Are they worth stocking up on?

And, no, I have no idea what I'm going to do with them (or what the
hell they do).  I just got excited when I saw the magic words "Voltage
Controlled Oscillator" in the description.

Are there any other chip-hoarders out there?
