[sdiy] 14-bit MIDI CCs - common, or rare?

Hi All.

A quick query for the MIDI experts out there....
How common is it to use MIDI CCs 32- 63 in conjunction with CCs 0 - 31 
to achieve 14 bit resolution? is it something one is likely to 
encounter often with commercial synths, DAWs etc?
Am having some thoughts about MIDI to CV, and wonder whether it needs 
to be taken into account when designing MIDI CC decoders....

Any thoughts welcome.....
