Either a manufacturer stocking up on a last-time buy, or Digikey
simply stopped that stock line once levels dropped below a certain
threshold, and dumped the remaining stock to a specialist reseller.

Time to abandon ship and try out the CoolAudio clones.  Would be nice
if some of the mainstream distros would pick them up.
