[sdiy] What is this part called?

I need some help figuring out what this is called. I'm in the process of building a DIY drum synth. I'm planning to make an enclosure out of oak. I plan to cut a rectangle with rounded corners in the top, then I plan to use a router to put a decorative edge on the outside and inside edges of the top. I'm planning to mount the front panel from the back of this top piece so that it shows though the hole I cut out of the oak. I know that on something somewhere (maybe not music gear?) I've seen some small metal clips which have a small screw on one end, and on the other end, they are bent down so that they apply pressure to hold something in place. Similar, to the clips that you see holding bathroom mirrors in place. Anyone know what these are called or where I can get them?
Alternatively, since I'm cutting a rectangle with rounded corners, I suppose I could add a hole in each corner of the panel and put wood screws in from behind to hold it in place, but this seemed like a less elegant solution.
Also... if anybody has a suggestion with a better way to do this, fire away...
Thanks,
Sam E.
