For I micro controller I'd look into the Pic32. I've just got a couple of
Pic32 boards to play with. They look promising. I've done a lot of work with
Pic16 and Pic24 processors. I like the Pic24 except for paged memory. Had to
use paged memory on the Pic16s and other processors but have manged to keep
my memory use down on the Pic24 things I've done.

Subject: [sdiy] DSP or Micro
Are there any recommendations for the Biggest Baddest Overkill DSP or
Microcontroller with an affordable price tag? The cost of required
Development tools also are important.
I would be looking for largest ram, code space and processing speed. Nice to
have would be D2A and A2D(s) onboard. Ram and Code space internal would be
nice but support for external memory could also fit the bill.
Thanks for any input on this subject
- Jerry
