Subject: [sdiy] advice on chips that can do delay

I am looking for a suitable replacement for a pt2399 that has a voltage range
of around 0-5v or even 0-3.3v instead of the measly input tolerance of the
PT2399.

I know that there are ucontrollers out there (or dspics maybe?) that can do
suitable digital delays.

any advice? (i dont mind if i have to learn to program the chip)

thanks
