I used to think ferrite beads were useless.
Now that I'm a licensed amateur radio operator I know better.
Most consumer products have to RF protection.
I also concur regarding digital circuits, and switching power supplies. I am part of a team that designs high end high current switching regulator IC's. We are very concerned of the high frequency signal components in our chips.
Bottom line, adding inductors on supplies takes little room.
On the negative side, finding the ferrite beads on a wire (like Scott at Bridechamber.com) ships is difficult. I just ordered 100 ferrite beads on wire from alltronics in Santa Clara.
