>From your description, it seems the switch or it's connection to the circuit is bad. If the switch
is soldered into a circuit board, look at the solder connections there, they could be cracked. Or
just reflow them all. If that doesn't help and if you can access the switch contacts, I'd try
temporarily wiring around it. If the switch is bad, the wiring will cause the circuit to work
again and tell you that you need to replace the switch.
