I know you're only joking (you're only joking, right?), but AD and CA have
sold piles of these chips over the years, and loads of commercial synth
modules use them.  If this was a really big problem, one would think that
we'd have heard about it before now.  That, combined with the fact that none
of us have ever actually killed a 2164, except on purpose or by plugging
something in wrong, and we probably are over-reacting just a tad.  However,
there's a word for people who are made aware of a danger and do nothing to
prevent it.  I can't think of that word right now, but I know it's a really
bad word.  :)
