Ah, that Canadian humour again!

Reality, meanwhile, has it that "ground" can mean different things to 
different people, and to different circuits.  For example:

- analogue ground
- digital ground
- chassis
- earth
- power ground
- quiet/signal ground

Oh, and layout issues are but one aspect.  Grounding is a complex 
subject in its own right.
