[sdiy] Modular Theremin or Heterodyne VCO

Yes I had read some of the Moog schematics and I was wondering why not just route CV directly from the straight antenna similar to how it is done with the loop antenna instead of using a pitch to voltage converter. What VCO have you found to give you the most theremin like sound? Have you used one that generates its sound from heterodyning?
