Phenolic has the desirable property (from a manufacturing sense) that you can punch (not drill) holes in it.

Other than that its pretty weak, cracks easliy, and often the copper will lift off if you get the pads
too hot.

Its cheap though...

BTW I got some vectorboard (mfgr Keystone and dist Digikey)that had defective holes drilled and would not take
the Vector T42-A terminal without enlagging the holes a bit. What a PITA. If you try to force the terminals, they would 
break ! You lose $.04 every time that happens.

I like the last line of the description: "Picture shows top and
bottom surface of the board, sold individually."  How do they
sell the top and bottom surfaces individually????
