Try setting up a GM Instrument track in Logic which sends Note On/Off to your MIDI Out.
Set up a track with 96th notes making your note length just a bit shorter than a 96th
>From there you can try sending very fast Gate On/Off info as a clock to your sequencer or you can try the same thing in drum mode - your sequencer will get pulses instead.

I've clocked a few things with Gates at MIDI clock speed - it's not pretty but it (mostly) works-ish.
