[sdiy] trying to control CV sequencer with DAW

Recently I purchased an MFB seq-02 step sequencer for my modular

it has a clock in input which can take 96 or 16 ppqn

I have a PAIA midi2cv converter which has a DIN SYNC mode and a drum mode
I am using LOGIC

My question is whether anyone has any experience or can offer advice on how to SYNC this sequencer or ANY CV sequencer to the tempo of a DAW sequencer. My sequencer can send out MIDI CLOCK info
and I tried using the DIN SYNC DIN 24 ppq 1mS pulses from output 8 on the PAIA midi2cv but this resulted in strange jerky tempo

there is also a DRUM MODE on the PAIA which says:

this mode provides for control of devices that use variable amplitude pulses for triggering, such as analog drum circuits. Each output corresponds to a key and the each key activation produces a 5ms pulse with amplitude proportional to velocity

I was also wondering if there was some OTHER way to make the appropriate pulses...possibly manually? could i just find a recording of a good PULSE and put it at the appropriate (which would be?) points in the beat?

I assume that the Sequencer is looking for the edge of a pulse.

thanks for any advice and any advice in general on clocking sequencers to DAW/MIDI

thanks!
