I don't think that cascading regulators will necessarily increase noise in 
the last regulator.
After all, there is likely much less noise after the first regulator, than 
before it. (except for noise spikes etc from circuits it is powering.)
But, if you are doing this, you have to consider the TOTAL current going 
through regulators earlier in line.
I have put regulators in series, and I would do it again, in some 
circumstances, depending.
