Hi Aaron!
Uff, this will be a hard project - good luck!
I wanted to do such a project with my Poly61 and/or Polysix, but never started it.
I just bought the keyboard contact pads from Bob Weigel so a keyboard repair is
a nicer choice for me...
But if you need the service manual for the DSS-1 you can find (a very bad) copy here:
http://glenstegner.com/dss1/DSS1-ServiceManual.zip
But maybe you can at least fetch ideas about the mechanical concept of your work...
Ciao
Peter

The DSS-1 is fantastic (highly underrated IMHO), but it takes up a whole lotta space...
I have an urge to try rack-mounting it. (Yes, I know there's the DSM-1, but it lacks a of cool stuff the DSS-1 has).
But then I saw this: http://802.11junk.com/jeffl/Korg_DSS-1/mostly-together.jpg
and got scared.
Based on the stucture of the UI boards, it looks like you could split the UI in half and put one half above the other in a 19" rack format.
Has anyone tried to do such a crazy thing?
- Aaron
