A few notes:
A Schottky diode can have lower V drop, but be careful: Check to make sure the
diode you choose has a decent drop in the current range you will be seeing. I
got burned by this.
10 Ohm series resistors: A good idea, but two things. One, 10R is a ballpark
value. If your module is pulling 400mA you will get 400mV of drop. And all the
current noise will be converted to voltage noise. Which leads to the second
point: you HAVE to provide enough filtering to correct for that noise.
