I agree with this. On my bookshelf I can see probably a dozen Embedded C
books that got me excited about C and programming in C. I was hardcore
asm before that but was very eager to learn.  Anyway the books have
words like microcontroller, embedded, engineering, programming,
real-time systems, etc. I won't give any exact titles because they deal
with things like HC11's and '196's that you wouldn't see outside of a
University anymore.
