Oh, boy, yes! C without pointers is, well, not C ;-)  This is where I
got bogged down for so long, trying to work only from Kernighan &
Ritchie.  It was only the Dummies book that gave me the Eureka Moment
with pointers. (It also made Perl references make full sense as well.)
