Hi list,
Over the last few months I have found utsource to provide high quality
parts 90% of the time. However they have been caught out with shipping
me fakes as they don't electrically test the chips. Their suppliers can
ship fakes to them and then on they go to us customers. They have
refunded me once the problem was spotted but be wary of low prices, and
test the chips immediately so you can return them if fake of damaged.
There are alot of fake chips around. Try and get actual photos of the
chips and know your date codes. I have had plenty of other suppliers say
they have stock but they will not send a sample or photo, and some claim
1980 chips are RoHS compliant. utsource have also taken payments from me
and then found that they really can't source the chips. However they
have been some good successes like CA3019.
Regards
Rob
