I was browsing the SoundOnSound reader's ads the other evening and found a whole pile of interesting synths that *aren't* on eBay. Prices for some were cheap (£250 for a brand new blofeld), and for other (classic) items they were expensive (£3000 for a Prophet 5 V2.2) but that's probably an accurate representation of supply/demand. At least we can be sure that it's not down to shill bids or last minute sniping.

Or I could just do it myself. LOL. I'm trying as noted some other
sites. So far I got ONE (1) hit from blujay...and the broken english
tipped me that it's probably someone phishing for my email so they can
spam me. Apparently blujay has no isolate for that kind of thing. The
only option I see is to reply to the clown. Forget it.

Sound on Sound is great if..you're in UK. Looks like a good bunch of
listings though! That's actually the most synths I've seen in one place
off ebay I think. The US should have a similar site going...but IN THE
PAST ohhhh..I'm remembering buying a jx10 from a lady in st. louis...and
I do use the 'lady ' term perhaps inaccurately. She represented it as
mint. I got it and the guy I bought it from...well he saw it and said
"That HO!"....lol. It was in fairly rough shape actually and most of
the key contacts were needing help..virtually none of the buttons worked
etc. Many hours of labor later I sold it to someone else and barely
came out with anything for my time...as back then it was still possible
to make a local sale in the local music store.

Anyway I've been able to ..using ebay and very limited dollar, build a
pretty incredible studio/museum here. I seriously can't see how it
would have been possible without being one of the early snipers. So I
mean I appreciate the opportunity the phenomena afforded but like I say
we'll see how it works out. If the guy is straight up and can bring
evidence forth ... we'll possibly be seeing a diversification. Just
wanted to give you guys a heads up on that. I repeat I don't *know*
that they're doing this. The successive incident of barely winning
auctions when they first went with that anonymous thing... made me
strongly suspicious and we'll see if it turns out to be just coincidence
hopefully. I always hope the best but expect the possibility of the
worst :-)
