I'm inclined to agree about this - eBay is not the only game in town. I was browsing the SoundOnSound reader's ads the other evening and found a whole pile of interesting synths that *aren't* on eBay. Prices for some were cheap (£250 for a brand new blofeld), and for other (classic) items they were expensive (£3000 for a Prophet 5 V2.2) but that's probably an accurate representation of supply/demand. At least we can be sure that it's not down to shill bids or last minute sniping.
Set up a shop, Bob, and leave eBay to their own devices if you don't like them. You can use all the 12%'s you save to pay a web designer to do a good job and get you a decent google ranking.
Regards,
Tom
