As an aside, I am currently working on a product that needs to have a
Wi-Fi modem built into it. We were exploring the option of buying a
chipset from one of the main vendors, but their pre-sales team won't
even release datasheets of the chipsets to you unless you are planning
on shipping over 500K per year, and even then you're a "small"
customer. Another good perspective on volume of "real" companies
versus the audio market would be a battery company we source from too.
They produce over 1.5 million batteries per month.

Just a bit of perspective... :-)
