I worked on a discrete OTA a few years ago. (Search the archives.) I was
able to match the CA3280 performance, but at a huge price. Transistor
matching is crucial and you can't get close to decent performance without
expensive matched pairs.
Why do you think you can improve on the 2164 with that approach?
