I think it still can happen when you move groups around. When you
place the group somewhere, the ends of net wires don't stick to other
net wires or component pins.

But the ERC cannot catch every possible error. If, for instance, two
resistors should be both connected to ground, but the ground
connection is missing, i.e.the resisitor are only connected together,
no ERC can ever find that.
