http://www.openscad.org/ is worth adding to any list of free CAD
software to investigate, and runs on Macs, Windows and Linux. It's not
at all the thing for artistic experimentation, but I'm yet to be
convinced that learning to write code for it is much harder than some
of the very clumsier CAD GUIs out there.
