All,
At the risk of opening myself for abuse, I've installed some
community building software on the synth.net domain name I own.
I have neglected this site for too long, and a recent offer to
purchase the domain (which I declined) spurred me into trying to get
more done with it.
I'll say it now before anyone beats me to it, this isn't intended as
a replacement for any of the other excellent places on the net like
electro-music.com, muffwiggler.com or even this mail-list. I'd view it
more as a "companion" site. It allows forums, groups and events to be
created. You can share pictures, sounds and even videos. It also lets'
you integrate with things like your facebook page and twitter feeds.
Everything you create can be made public or private, so if you make
and sell PCBs, Sequencers, Synths, kits or even music you can create a
group to which people can subscribe.
I've put some pictures of my projects up, some demos, a couple of
schematics and created a couple of groups and an event for Synth DIY
UK 2011.
If you get stuck, feel free to email me or drop something in the
"Synth.net Problems" forum.
The install is a bit "new" and things still need some refining (like
the categories) but I'd like you all to be involved in shaping this
community site. The site still has "powered by Boonex" adverts all
over it, once I'm sure this is something people will use I'll appeal
for donations towards the one off license fee cost of $99.
So why not pop over to http://synth.net/ and give it a whirl?
Paul
